Structure
In 1 tablet:
Active ingredient: prostate extract – 100 mg (in terms of water-soluble peptides – 20 mg);
Excipients: sucrose – 28.5 mg, lactose monohydrate – 7.125 mg, calcium stearate monohydrate – 2.5 mg, crospovidone – 9.275 mg, microcrystalline cellulose – up to 102.6 mg;
Shell composition: acryl-eze (methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate copolymer [1:1], titanium dioxide, talc, triethyl citrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium hydrocarbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate, indigo carmine) – 25 mg.

Pharmacodynamics
Vitaprost® has an organotropic effect on the prostate gland. It reduces the degree of edema, leukocyte infiltration of the prostate gland, it normalizes the secretory function of epithelial cells, increases the number of lecithin granules in the secretion of acini, stimulates the muscle tone of the bladder. The drug improves microcirculation in the prostate by reducing thrombus formation, antiplatelet activity, and prevents the development of venous thrombosis in the prostate gland.
Based on clinical studies, Vitaprost® has been proven to moderately reduce prostate volume. The drug reduces the severity of obstructive and irritative symptoms in case of the benign prostatic hyperplasia, which is reflected in an increase in the maximum and average volumetric flow rates of urine and a decrease in the volume of residual urine.
Clinical studies have shown that the use of Vitaprost® reduces the likelihood of the development of exacerbations of chronic abacterial prostatitis; it does not cause changes in clinical and biochemical blood tests, or in the general urinary test. The effectiveness of the use of Vitaprost® for the prevention of exacerbations of chronic abacterial prostatitis is estimated by medical researchers as 97.5%.
Vitaprost® normalizes parameters of the secretion of the prostate gland and ejaculate. The drug reduces pain and discomfort caused by prostatitis, it eliminates dysuric phenomena, improves the copulative function.
Intended uses
- chronic abacterial prostatitis;
- prevention of exacerbations of chronic abacterial prostatitis;
- benign prostatic hyperplasia;
- conditions before and after surgical interventions on the prostate gland.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the drug ingredients;
- lactase deficiency, sucrose/isomaltase deficiency, lactose intolerance, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption (the drug contains lactose and sucrose).
Dosage and administration
Inside, 1 tablet 2 times a day.
The duration of treatment in case of benign prostatic hyperplasia is at least 30 days, in case of chronic prostatitis – at least 10 days.
For the prevention of exacerbations of chronic prostatitis, 1 tablet 2 times a day for at least 30 days – 1-2 times a year.
Side effects
Very rarely: Allergic response.
If any of the above side effects are aggravated or if you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, notify your doctor.
Overdose
No cases of drug overdose have been reported.
Precaution
The treatment of chronic prostatitis and conditions before and after surgical interventions on the prostate gland should be comprehensive, suggesting the use of other groups of drugs and non-drug methods of treatment, along with the prescription of Vitaprost® tablets.
Interaction with other drugs
If you are taking any other medications, you should consult your doctor before starting the treatment.
Cases of interaction or incompatibility with other drugs are not described.
